The Embodied Feminine
This workshop will explore the spaces and structures that enervate our enliven being.
Using the BMC® practice of embodied anatomy, we will excavate the source of feminine agility and capacity in our own bodies. Where in our bodies do we create and hold space? How can spaciousness be a form of deep-rooted strength? We will embody the pelvic bowl as a space for healing the feminine in all of us -- all genders included. We will dive into the various body systems that encompass the pelvis: breath, muscle, bone and organ to uncover how each system supports feminine expression.
Drawn from the work of Body Mind Centering®, embodied anatomy is a movement and visualization practice that views anatomy through the lived experience. Using pictures and models as aids to help us visualize various structures, we then turn inward to our own unique physicality. Using breath, verbal guidance, and movement, our anatomy comes to life.
This process helps us get to know and express the various structures of our bodies and the pathways they travel to move us through the world.
For anyone with a strong movement practice, embodied anatomy is a powerful tool for exploring inner and outer alignment, for encouraging a balanced dance between form and flow, for discovering new places of support and expression.
