Learn Through Play
During an IDME playgroup we create nurturing environments that meet your infant right where they are, based on their motor skills as well as emotional & perceptual capacities.
We address questions around
Not liking tummy time
Being unable to roll
Getting arms stuck while rolling
Imbalanced strength between arms and legs
How to safely facilitate rolling, crawling, sitting, standing, walking
This webinar is appropriate for
Expecting parents who want to learn handling skills ahead of their baby’s arrival
Parents with babies, from newborns to early walkers who are interested in the process of movement development and want to support their baby’s ability to move with ease.
Birth educators who work with families who want to share handling skills with their clients.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll learn various techniques for supporting your infant as they learn the skills necessary to go from rolling and crawling to sitting and walking - and everything in between.
With IDME, we are observing how your baby learns. What are their strategies, preferences, styles of exploration?
Learning stems from their sense of curiosity.
When we are curious, we are open to new possibilities. When we are curious, we see challenge as opportunity. When we are curious, we can embody less shame and more playfulness.
In IDME play groups, we explore what’s present for your baby. Are there certain skills they are practicing? What are the micro-skills they are still having a hard time with? How can you, as their caretaker, provide assistance that doesn’t take away their ability to learn it themselves?
This is a tricky balance to attain, but one full of value - in my opinion.
